Terms of Service
Last updated: 26 October 2026 · Effective: 26 October 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Intersans Design Pvt Ltd (“Lined Press”, “we”, “us”) that applies whenever you visit or use Lined Press. Please read them carefully. By creating an account, previewing a book, subscribing to a plan or downloading a file, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Lined Press.
1. Who we are
Lined Press is made with love in India by Intersans Design Pvt Ltd, Vadodara, Gujarat (“Lined Press”, “we”, “us” or “our”). You can contact us at support@linedpress.com.
2. Definitions
- “Service” means the Lined Press website, the book studio, the dashboard, and any files, features and support we provide.
- “You” means the person using the Service, and the business they act for if they use it on a business’s behalf.
- “Your Input” means everything you enter into the Service, such as titles, subtitles, author names, book descriptions (“briefs”), and choices of size, page count, paper and colour.
- “Output” means the books and files the Service creates for you, including interior PDFs, cover PDFs, cover templates and any written content in them.
- “Full book” means a book whose full interior PDF you have downloaded on any plan. Watermarked previews, cover PDFs and cover templates are not full books.
- “Written book” means a book type with written content (gratitude, prompt and planner journals). “Notebook” means a book type without written content (lined, dot grid and graph).
- “Monthly allowance” means the number of new full books your plan lets you download each month, as set out in section 6.
- “Billing period” means the one-month period that each subscription payment covers.
3. The service
Lined Press turns a short description of a book into print-ready files for Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (“KDP”): an interior PDF and a cover PDF sized to KDP’s published paperback specifications. For some book types, such as gratitude journals, prompt journals and planners, the interior includes written content such as an introduction, section themes, daily prompts and affirmations. Other book types, such as lined, dot-grid and graph notebooks, contain page layouts without written content.
You can use the studio and watermarked previews without an account. Saving books and downloading full books require an account, and some features require a paid plan.
4. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract.
- You must not be barred from using the Service under the laws of India or of the country where you live.
- If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it, and “you” includes that organisation.
5. Your account
- You must give a valid email address that you control. We use it to sign you in and to send you important messages about your account and billing.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for everything that happens under it. Tell us straight away at support@linedpress.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
- An account is for one person. Don’t share your account or sign-in links with others.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
6. Plans and limits
We currently offer these plans. The pricing page always shows the current details, and it takes priority if it differs from this summary.
| Plan | Price | Written books per month | Notebooks per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1 | 1 |
| Creator | $9 per month | 15 | Unlimited |
| Pro | $19 per month | 50 | Unlimited |
- How the allowance works: a book uses one place in your monthly allowance the first time you download its full interior PDF. Downloading the same book again, editing it, previewing it and downloading its cover never use your allowance.
- Reset: allowances reset at the start of each month (on paid plans, at the start of each billing period). Unused places don’t carry over to the next month and can’t be exchanged for money.
- Deleting a book doesn’t return its place to your allowance.
- Reaching your allowance: you can keep previewing, editing and re-downloading books you already have. To download more new books that month, upgrade or wait for the reset.
- All plans include unlimited previews, all book types and trim sizes, your own cover image, cover patterns and the cover template. Pro also includes features we mark on the pricing page, some of which may be labelled as coming soon.
- “Unlimited” means normal use by one person making their own books. To keep the Service fast and fair for everyone, we may apply reasonable limits to automated, bulk or abusive use, and we will tell you if a limit affects your account.
7. Billing, renewal and taxes
- Prices are shown in US dollars. Your bank may charge currency conversion fees.
- Automatic renewal: paid plans are billed in advance each month and renew automatically on the same day each month until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise the recurring charge to your payment method.
- Taxes: sales tax, VAT, GST or similar taxes are calculated and collected at checkout where they apply, and may be added to the listed price.
- Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, we or Dodo Payments may retry it. If it still can’t be collected, your account may move to the Free plan until payment succeeds. Your saved books are not deleted.
- Upgrades: if you move to a higher plan, the change applies straight away and you may be charged the difference for the rest of the current billing period.
- Price changes: we will tell you by email at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription. If you don’t want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.
8. Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments (dodopayments.com), which also handles order-related questions and refunds. This means:
- Dodo Payments is the seller of record for your subscription and issues your invoices and receipts.
- Dodo Payments calculates, collects and pays any applicable sales taxes.
- Your payment details are collected and processed by Dodo Payments. We never see or store your full card number.
- The charge on your bank or card statement starts with DODOPAY.
- Dodo Payments’ Buyer Terms and Privacy Policy also apply to your purchase.
9. Cancelling, downgrading and refunds
You can cancel at any time. When you cancel or downgrade, you keep your current plan until the end of the billing period you have paid for, and you are not charged again. You can get a full refund of a charge if you ask within 7 days of it and have not downloaded a full book during that billing period. Our Refund & Cancellation Policy explains this in full and forms part of these Terms.
10. Your content and your books
- You own your Input and your Output. As between you and us, you own the books and files the Service creates for you, and you can publish, sell, change and distribute them as you wish, subject to these Terms and to the rights of others.
- Licence to us: you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process and display your Input and Output only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service for you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law or that remain for a short time in backups.
- We don’t use your books for marketing or show them to other users without your permission.
- You are responsible for your Input. You confirm you have the right to use everything you enter, including any names, titles and text, and that it doesn’t break any law or anyone else’s rights.
- Keep your own copies. We take care to keep your books safe, but you should keep copies of files you download.
11. AI-written content
- Some Output is written by artificial intelligence models, including models provided by Anthropic. AI output can contain mistakes, repetition or text that doesn’t suit your audience. Read and check your book before you publish it.
- In many countries, including the United States, text produced purely by AI may not be protected by copyright. This means others may be able to reuse it, and you may not be able to stop them.
- AI output may be similar or identical to output produced for other users from similar briefs. We don’t guarantee that Output is unique.
- Output is not professional, medical, legal, financial or psychological advice. If your book covers sensitive topics, such as health, parenting or mental wellbeing, you are responsible for making sure it is appropriate and accurate for your readers.
- You must follow any rules about AI content that apply to you, including KDP’s requirement to declare AI-generated content (see section 12).
12. Publishing on Amazon KDP
- You are the publisher of any book you publish using our files, and you are responsible for your KDP account, listings, prices, keywords, descriptions and sales.
- Declare AI content. KDP asks publishers whether a book contains AI-generated text, images or translations. You must answer KDP’s questions truthfully.
- Follow KDP’s rules, including its content guidelines, any limits on how many titles you can publish, and its rules on misleading or low-quality content.
- KDP has the final say. Our files are built to KDP’s published paperback specifications, but Amazon may change its specifications or decide not to accept, publish or keep a book on sale. Always check your files in KDP’s previewer before publishing. We are not responsible for KDP rejecting, removing, limiting or suspending a book or an account.
- No affiliation. Lined Press is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Amazon. Amazon, KDP and Kindle Direct Publishing are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
13. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- create or publish material that infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights, including titles or covers that use well-known brands, characters or authors’ names without permission;
- create content that is illegal, defamatory, fraudulent, deceptive, hateful, harassing, violent, or that sexualises minors;
- mislead readers, for example by passing off a book as written by a real person who didn’t write it;
- flood marketplaces with large numbers of near-identical books, or otherwise break the rules of the platforms where you publish;
- access the Service by automated means (bots, scrapers or scripts) except through features we provide for that purpose;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, get around any security or usage limit, or interfere with other users;
- copy, sell, resell, rent or sublicense access to the Service itself, or use it to build a competing product; or
- upload viruses or other harmful code.
We may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that break these rules (see section 22).
14. Our intellectual property
The Service itself, including our software, page designs and layouts, templates, website text, the Lined Press name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms don’t give you any rights in it except the right to use the Service as described here. The page layouts inside your Output are licensed to you to use in your books without extra charge.
15. Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, you agree we may use them to improve Lined Press without paying you or owing you anything.
16. Third-party services
The Service relies on and links to services run by others, such as Dodo Payments, Anthropic, hosting and database providers, font and script providers, and Amazon KDP. Their own terms and policies apply to your use of them, and we aren’t responsible for their services.
17. Reporting infringement
If you believe something made with Lined Press infringes your rights, email support@linedpress.com with the subject “Infringement”, including your contact details, a description of your work or mark, where the infringing material appears, and a statement that the information in your notice is accurate. We will review it promptly and act where appropriate.
18. Changes to the service
We are improving Lined Press all the time. We may add, change or remove features, book types or templates. If we remove a significant paid feature, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can. We aim to keep the Service available, but it may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control.
19. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service and all Output are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that Output will be accepted by KDP or any other platform, or that your books will earn any sales or income.
20. Limitation of liability
- To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, sales, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising from your use of the Service, even if we were told it could happen.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) US $50.
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded.
21. Indemnity
You agree to compensate us for reasonable losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from a claim by a third party that your Input, your published books or your breach of these Terms infringed their rights or broke the law.
22. Suspension and termination
- You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account.
- We may suspend or close your account, or remove content, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we must do so by law, or to protect other users or the Service. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first.
- If we close your account because we are discontinuing the Service, we will refund any unused part of a prepaid billing period.
- Sections that by their nature should continue after termination (including 10, 11, 12, 14, 19, 20, 21 and 23) continue to apply.
23. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us at support@linedpress.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally; most issues can be solved this way. If a dispute can’t be resolved within 30 days, the courts in Vadodara, Gujarat, India have exclusive jurisdiction. This does not take away any right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings in the courts where you live, or any mandatory consumer protection that applies to you.
24. General terms
- Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Refund & Cancellation Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Severability: if any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver: if we don’t enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the Service, and we will tell you if that happens.
- Events beyond our control: we aren’t responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages of internet or cloud providers, natural disasters or government action.
- Notices: we may send notices to the email address on your account. You can send notices to support@linedpress.com.
- Language: these Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version applies if they differ.
25. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example when we add features or when the law changes. If a change is significant, we will update the date at the top and tell signed-in users by email or on the site at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don’t agree, you can cancel and stop using the Service.
